LeT militant associate arrested in Awantipora | KNO

Srinagar, Jan 01 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir Police in Awantipora have arrested a militant associate and recovered incriminating materials including explosive substance from his possession. Spokesperson in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that Awantipora police along with 42RR and 130Bn CRPF arrested one militant associate of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT). He has been identified as Aqif Ahmad Teli resident of Cherso Awantipora. “As per police records he was involved in providing shelter, logistics and other support to the active militants, besides transporting arms & ammunition in Awantipora & Tral areas. He was also involved in recruiting local youth in militant ranks and distribution of militant money. In this regard, the bank transactions of the arrested militant associate are also being investigated,” police said. “Incriminating material of LeT and other explosive substances has been recovered from his possession. All the recovered materials have been taken into case records for further investigation. In this connection, a case under FIR number 02/2021 under relevant section of law stands registered in Police Station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated,” police said—(KNO)
